I have posted this in another forum on another website (revitforum) but thought I'd try here as well.
I've been trying to work out the best way to get Revit to present general arrangement plans as per what is expected in Australia. This topic has been touched on in previous topics/discussions but they never quite resolve all of the issues to my satisfaction.
In brief, in Australia we present loadbearing elements under with a hidden line type and a solid light grey hatch. Generally the accepted way to achieve this is to apply filters that alter the visibility/graphic overrides for the elements that are in projection (In our case, under).
The issue I am having trouble finding the best solution for is when the element has a floor/wall/column element over it. These elements prevent the solid hatch from showing through (when model display style is set to hidden line type). The solutions for this appear to be either to switch the model display style to wireframe, or to make the floor/walls/columns over transparent.
The issue with both these solutions is that the floor soffit/slab fold lines no longer appear as a hidden line, and instead become solid, which is incorrect for what we are trying to achieve.
You are also unable to "fix" this with the linework tool, other than to make them invisible and drawing lines in their place. This isn't really a suitable solution as if your soffit lines move you have to manually re-draw the lines in.
Does anyone have a better solution to this? I am also trying to avoid having overlaid views on the sheet if possible.
