Mitre Connection For Custom Profile Shapes, Anyone had luck ?

I am trying to use a structural framing family with a non-standard section profile but when i try to mitre connect in the project it cant work due to there not being a corresponding section shape. 

In the section shape list there is an option for 'User Defined' & also 'Not Defined'.

Is it possible for me to tell revit the new section profile so it can carry out the connection process correctly ?

I cant find a way to load custom profiles so wondering if anyone has any tips.

Note: Placing a steel connection could fail if:

• the input elements are not supported structural steel shapes or families for steel fabrication.
