Precast walls

I am trying to split some walls into precast wall panels using the precast tools in Revit. Unfortunately i am not able to split for certain wall type with specific structure. We need those walls to be in that particular type to meet our need. Most of the wall are sandwich walls and others are normal walls with colored concrete for the finished. I have shared the Revit file which has the walls type. Please share some solution to overs come this problem

Taking a quick look, the walls appear very complex for the process and contain elements (reveals/layer modifications) which are probably better applied after they have been split and as parts.  You also have layers in them that are not structural and therefore causing identification issues during the splitting process.  If you have the structural element only with in the core boundary and all other air/thermal layers outside make a difference?

Hopefully one of the team can offer more detailed confirmation.

If i add the air/thermal layer outside the core boundary it does not identifies the Precast element type. Moreover i am not sure how to add the reveal/layer modification after the walls are split. can you guide me how to do it ?

Hello,

The following elements are identified as precast elements and therefore you could use the split command on them:

- Wall having only the structural layers - Solid Walls;

- Walls having the following configuration: Structure-AIr-Structure - DOuble walls

Any other wall cannot be split using the split command but you can use the parts capabilities to divide into parts and add all relevant families and reinforcement into assemblies. Afterwards you can use the shop drawing and CAM export to generate drawings and CAM data.

Some more details can be found here:

Let me know if you need additional assistance.
