Precast content Revit 2024

Hi All,

I'm trying to sort out the pre-cast content for my Revit 2024 installation. (not used the precast tools on any previous version)

I get this message pop up:

I've followed the advice on this help page:

https://help.autodesk.com/view/RVT/2024/ENU/?guid=GUID-3CA29220-B100-4286-8EAD-05A0F2AE63BB

I'm based in the UK and when I browse for the content I have no precast folders in the UK library. I do however have one in the US folder:

Should there be a UK specific folder for the precast content? I have tried reinstalling the UK content pack but it made no difference.

TIA.

Adam.

My understanding is that from 2021 it is now integrated into Revit so should automatically be installed.

Often when no content is installed you still get the Precast Folder so i do not think they are specific to the content install.  In this instance for 2024 it appears just to path to another folder so needs re-pathing in the Precast Addin > Configuration.

I would suggest this is a rework on Autodesk's part here and moved content to a different folder location and  updated the Path on the install.  When running this it references US/Metric Families so assume they are as 2023?

Jay, thanks for your reply and help. I've pathed it to the US folder and all seems to be working fine. 👍

Why is precast still only for walls and floors? Don't they make precast beams and columns outside europe?
And I'm talking about the configuration and workflow to make assemblies, fabrication sheets, etc.

They did provide some additional content a while ago which had more structural references but I cannot recall what release or find it on the inter-web

This tab has up until now only been for walls and floors. Can't select beams or columns out of it 😞

It will be installed with Revit 2025 automatically and is not located in the default folder for the Region - Below is the English Example although U.K. content was installed it was still under the US Folder for English

Even if I select French it is there by Default

Remember ProgramData Folder is Hidden in Windows by Default so outside Revit you have to allow it to be Viewed.

If it is not there I would say the install is corrupt and needs to be uninstalled and reinstalled.

I'll install U.S. library first. Then reinstall if not. All installs derived from Autodesk, however installed on my G drive.

Approach followed, sadly 'Structural Precast' does not appear. Any further thoughts?

why would you install libraries nowadays when you can simply go to the autodesk family cloud library?

the German one is full of very nice structural families
