Precast content is missing

I am trying to use the precast functions but when I click on any options in the ribbon I receive the following error message. I cannot change the folder path in the configuration option as it also shows the same message. I tried selecting the structural precast folder, but it also resulted in an error.

I recall a similar post where in one of the Latest releases the Path for the elements had changed and opening 2025 here I got the same message!  Click on Browse and it will tell you where to look

Unfortunately, this is not the case with me. When I click browse it prompts me to select a folder without telling me where to look. I am not sure if this is relevant but I have Revit installed on the D drive not C. Here is the extension of the structural precast folder: D:\Program files\Revit\Libraries\English\US\Structural Precast

The default drive is C:\ but appreciate you can pick the exact drive on installation.

The only point to note here is typically the Libraries are installed in ProgramData (hidden folder by default) and not Program Files but again this can be changed to suit.

This is where the default install placed mine for 2025

C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\RVT 2025\Libraries\English\US

UDATE:
Turns out I had some missing families, so I copied the family files from a device that has a functioning precast option and pasted them into mine and it worked. So, if anyone faces a similar issue, try this method.

Glad you got it sorted!

I would personally have reinstalled the software as if core install items are missing what else is missing?

Can you access ProgramData Folder on your PC?

Do you have anything like this?

I would not go copying and pasting as the path shown above is wrong and it should be ProgramData not Program files as this is where they are installed by default - typically people have an issue as their ProgramData folder is hidden so cannot find the file location.

Here are the files but I would be very cautious if these are not installed by default what else is missing?

No problem, I like to try and solve it correctly and understand why its not there and how it can be fixed properly but sometimes!!!!

it would be bugging the life out of me why and searching my PC and every folder for a file of that name 🙂

I agree, however sometimes we all need to crack on. 👍
