Point clouds slow!

Good grief! Am I doing something wrong or is working with point clouds in Revit just miserable?!

We have great machines and I've tried a lot of things, but every click is just so slow.

I hate to say it, but I'm ready to go back to AutoCAD to model this building (structural steel) using a point cloud.

Any tips?

Hello @LyleHardin

Try to create a new file just for point clouds (1 point cloud = 1 revit file) and link it to your working file. Also create a separate workset for point cloud if you have a multiple point clouds.

I finally tried this on another machine and it worked great. But, I realized the point cloud was working fine this time.

I ended up just using this other machine with the point cloud in the model itself and all went well. No hesitations, no problems.

My machine must have something going on with it. Similar machines, but since I'm constantly loading and unloading things as part of my job, I wouldn't be surprised if my machine is just hosed up and due for a good formatting and rebuild. So, contrary to my original post, I'm blaming the machine.

Thanks for the suggestion.
