Parametric dimensions in family

Hello

I am trying to dimesion a slope with a linear dimension in the family.

If I make it parmetriic and load into the project the dimensions are different.  

It does not seem to be able to dimension linear.  Help.

Not quite understand. It is a generic adaptive family with 4 placement points. When you load in project you place it by picking 4 spots for those points. The dimensions in the family mean little to nothing.

Or if you want to report the dimensions, use Reporting parameters.

In order to set those dimensions in an adaptive family you have to set a workplane first.  If you make the lines that are making the solid, Reference lines (check is Reference in the properties), this will allow you to select them as a workplane, once that workplane is established you can dimension from those points.
