Not able to reconcile parts from a linked model

In a little out-of-the-box thinking, I am experimenting with creating our structural "walls" by creating parts from the Architect's linked model.  I then have parameters that I can assign as bearing or shear to control the display and a filter to remove any part with a thickness less than 3".

This is working fantastically until the new model comes and a part becomes unhosted for whatever reason.  (this does not happen with all the parts, the best I can deduce is that the parts that lose their host are because walls have been deleted, then redrawn at the Architect's end).

However, Revit has a tool under the collaborate tab for reconciling hosting - it just doesn't seem to work for parts.  Is this true or am I using the reconcile incorrectly?

Thank you in advance for any insights/comments/guesses at what to try.
