Newbie - Is it possible factor a flitch beam into a structural analysis of a floor?

I have a flitch beam design that I would like to model in Revit to replace a support post. Is Revit intelligent enough to factor in the beam design to accurately reflect its effects in a structural analysis of the floor?

The short answer is no.

But the long answer is that a beam in Revit is a geometry with material and analytical line. You will need to model the beam properly and add the correct material properties based on our composition. However, you will need to do some work in the analysis software too (May be Robot Structure) to make sure that it has got all the information from Revit.
