Need help with linked files showing hidden lines

I work for a Structural Engineering company and still relatively new to Revit.

We have an Arch'l model that we link into our Structural Model.  We had made backgrounds in the Arch'l model with how we want the model to appear, information we want shown from the architect and so forth.  We then proceed to insert the structure on our model.  The problem I'm coming across is this.  We do not redraw walls nor do we use the copy/monitor.

We want walls shown below a plane to show up as hidden based on how its being cut.  So if you have a building thats rectangular and only show a square section of it being a sloped roof with overhangs and the ends are shown as parapets.  The bearing wall should show up as solid where the parapet is, and transition to hidden at the sloped.

Currently when I set up the backgrounds on the arch'l model.  But when I link it into mine, the visibility doesnt transfer. Even if I set it to linked model and to the background view thats created for that purpose.

anyway this can be fixed so that what I see in the linked model can be transfered to the new model.

Welcome to the community:)

If you are looking for the similar view as you have in the linked view, in that case use the Linked view option and linked the particular view see the article, https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/revit-products/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2016/EN...

Are you trying to do something similar to this?

In this case, I have the architectural model linked in my roof plan, although I wanted the architectural background to display the canopy below in hidden lines.

Oh ok.. I see what you mean.

You could create a filter for the architectural link for the roof to appear as a dashed line, and then use a solid detail line and draw over the dashed line where you want the line to appear solid.
