multi plain rebar shapes

Hi,

I'm trying to make multi plain rebar shapes but am having some issues. If I'm understanding right everything that I've read says it isn't possible but on the odd chance does anyone have a work around?

Thanks!

Susanne

I had this issue last year trying to create the second of your images and was first told by autodesk that it could be done and then told that it couldn't. I ended up working around by modelling the bar with the last leg in same direction as the first and then changing the shape code on the bar bending schedule so they ended up on site as you have shown in image 2. Can't remember exactly how I went about changing the shape code on the bar bending schedule though.

Hi @Anonymous,

I understand you are trying to make one continuous multi-planar rebar that is asymmetrical.

One workaround method that you may already be aware of is to create a 2 multi-planar rebars.  The results have the look of your

screenshot but will be 2 multi-planar rebars.

thank you for the response. Sadly that would work and I might have to do something like that but for my projects we use the BOM for ordering. The BOM is done with a rebar schedule so I think it would be a huge pain to get everything to appear in my schedule the correct way and if it were two instances I would have to filter on out from the schedule so it wouldn't get ordered twice.
