Modeling Formwork

Hello 

what is the best program to model form work, i don't want to analyze or design, i just want to prepare a 3D model of it, is revit able to do so ? if not can someone point me to a program that i can link the output from it to a revit model?

I have seen a few people do formwork in Revit. There is NO out of the box content and you will need to create your own Revit content (families). 

Does the contractor or architect ever share their models with you? That would be one thing that would determine if you would spend the time in making this. There certainly would be lots of benefits in using Revit if others are too.

Revit would be your best option. Especially if the sub-consultants, architect, contractors etc are using revit. Keep in mind there will be a bit of a curve on drawing production until you get your work flow nailed down and your families develop. As there is no true easy button with anything new you are trying. But hang in there. I would be really intrested as to how this will turn out.

Hello NERDASORUS,

For Modelling, you can go for Revit Software. We are using Revit to create Formwork models. For that we have internal Revit family library. Automation, BOQ, Views extraction are the parts we are taking from Revit. For your reference I have attached few images.

Can We Get the Quantities also for billing?

Yes, we can take BOQ. 

For that, we have to add parameters like item name, material code, unit weight and No.of requirement etc .., as shared parameter.
