Making bracing show in high detail view

Hi every one,

I want my bracing to show as 3D element when I select the hidg detail level in my view. I want them to show complete with the plates. When I select high detail bracing turn to a line. When I double clic on my bracing to modify the family I get the error message below. Any idea how to fix this?

Is this a bespoke Family you have created?

Does it work with an Out of the box angle Family?

I use the default angle family available in revit. English-Canadian-Steel.

I notice that when I modify the thickness of the angle it start showing in 3D. With thickness below 5 mm it shows a line instead. Any Idea why?

Also when I import this family the profiles always import with the wrong dimension and I need to correct it. See example below. Do you know how to fix this?

I think this is the Issue you are modifying a Profile and this needs to be done in the Family,

If you investigate the Family and ensure it can be created before editing then with would reinforce the above point.

Looking at the profile directly

From the Parameter's and then the Profile Type Properties

The Structural Section Geometry is driving the Profile and changing to 4.0mm and loading back into Revit 2025 and overriding the existing family/section had no influence on this I can only thing some Connection or Steel Modifiers do not like the changes in the Section Size ?

Thanks,

Also do you know why section dimension are modified by Revit when I import them? It would save me lot of time if section could keep the good dimensions.
