Can anyone explain how to nest a rectangular beam? I have an LVL family from a manufacturer that I would like to nest and am having difficulty with the length. It comes into the project short, as the nested length, although the properties indicate the actual length that was selected.
I'm also not sure how to constrain the plies such that they deflect equally to satisfy compatibility. For example, if a two-ply beam is loaded on one side, the ply on the opposite side works with it compositely.
For now, using one element and adjusting the schedule with formulas based on beam width works, but if there is an easy way to nest the actual sized elements I would prefer it.
