Joist bearing on Beam

I have been searching posts looking for information on having stl joists sitting on top of a stl beam. ie the beam lowered -5" for a lh joist. Right now my joist / beam are flush top and if i lower the beam start and end points .. the joist slopes. Can someone point me in the right direction?

I would set the "Z direction offset" for all your joists, rather than changing the vertical offset of the beams, but that's just me.

You could use the same parameter to lower the beams.
