Joining geometry of not intersecting parts

Hi all,

could not find it solved anywhere.

Is it possible to join elements in one solid if they do not interesect?

Like two adjacent slab made of the same material. I get a prompt that they can not be joined which is easily possible in other software.

Thanks in advance.

it should work.  I created two identical slabs where the edges are touching each other (not overlapping) and the Join Geometry command does join the two.  The Level view shows they are joined but the 3D view shows there is a line that separates the two objects.

Tried multiple times and gives my the message below:

"Can't cut joined element."

Would you know what maybe a a reason for that?

It looks like you are trying to use the Cut Geometry instead of Join Geometry

Cut Geometry command requires objects to be overlapping...not touching.

I am using the function shown in the attached image.

And the 2nd image is what I am getting.

so the error stated you can't cut joined geometry.  the objects are already joined.  are you trying to unjoin them to cut them?....slightly confused

dzanta,

thanks for your responses.

As showed in the 2nd image - i want to join foundation pad and the slab/raft together so the black line showing the boundary between them dissapears.

I see....I understand now.  Use the Floor Slab Edge command with a turn down slab profile to make the edges appear the way you want....no need to use Join Geometry.
