Import and use CAD Layer State (.LAS) files

I have come across a project where my autocad file is set up with layer states.  I have never used layer states before but i do know that you can export the .las file.  Only thing is i am not sure how to import the .las into REVIT.  I ultimately would like to be able to import into my Revit (link as a CAD) and be able to just see what i need in that layer state to use as an overlay in my model.  Can anyone shed light on if this is possible or if i need any extra add ons?  If it is possible what would be the steps to go through to get my desired layer state view in REVIT to use as an overlay?

Is this RDG toolbar something that comes with Revit or is it an add-in?
