IfcExportAs Parameter doesn't work

Hi All,

I am trying to find a good way for me to export Revit models to IFC that could be used in Archicad by architects. I've got a feedback from them, that some of Revit object are being exported to "IfcBuildingElementProxy" which is being recognized by Archicad as an object and cannot be fully used.

I've found "Revit IFC Manual" published by Autodesk and there is a chapter "5.3 Other Settings" which says, that exported type of object can be given by stating relevant value of "IfcExportAs" parameter. I've found "IFC shared parameters file" created by Autodesk and created new Project Parameter "IfcExportAs".

As for example, I've assigned value "IfcSlab" for Slab Edges, but they are still being exported to IFC as IfcBuildingElementProxy.

What could be the reason of such behaviour? I've found this screencast and I am following the steps, but it doesn't work.

Do you have any ideas?

Regards, Jakub

Not sure, but try to add "IfcExportAs" as a shared parameter and add it to the family itself (in the family editor) instead ofas a project parameter.

Please mention Revit version, especially when uploading Revit files.
