IFC parameters doesn't converted to rvt file correctly

I am using Revit 2024.

I got some information would like to update in IFC file. All the IFC parameters is correct when I view it in other IFC viewer or other IFC software.

However, when I link the IFC file in Revit, and open IFC.RVT file, the IFC parameters doesn't show correctly in properties.

This caused the updated information cannot correctly detected in other IFC software after I export it again as IFC file.

Anything I have missed out?

I am not sure what parameters you are referring to specifically but please take a look at the following knowledge base article and see if it relates to your issue?

Certain model elements do not get exported from Revit to IFC

Hi Jay,

Thanks for the reply.
I actually referring to an IFC file (IFC-SG format). I get an IFC-SG file which I required to update some information.

Originally, if open corresponding IFC-SG file in other IFC viewer, those IFC parameters is correctly being listed and organized (refer to Image A). However, when I linked IFC file in Revit and open IFC.RVT file that automatically created by Revit to update some information, the IFC parameters in IFC.RVT file not listed correctly (refer to Image B). This affect me when I export it again to IFC file and view it in other IFC viewer, those parameters will be missing.

After posted this yesterday, I continue my try in Revit. I am thinking the root cause whether it is from the original IFC file as those IFC parameters is listed in "Other properties" in IFC viewer OR I didn't setup properly when I linked the IFC file in Revit OR I do the correct setup when export it out in Revit.

Make a little more sense, it appears the format of the IFC is critical here and I found this information in IFC-SG

This also led the the following Autodesk Interoperability Tools which may assist you further with the document and video in the link

IFC-SG Resources

So I assume you need to ADD IFC-SG Parameters into your model so they can be read/mapped?
