select the down arrow under the Modify button in the ribbon. make sure the Select Links option is selected.

I don't believe "Extend" will not work with a link, it wants another Revit element to extend to.

Align should work though. what are you trying to align to the DWG Link?

I can extend Revit elements (detail or model) to a linework of a DWG link without any problem.

interesting... I couldn't get the extend to work.

I went back to my file to try again and noticed some lines would select and others would not. They are all "Lines"  (vs Polylines) even Lines on the same layers were not consistent. gonna have to look at my CAD file I'm using to see why.

@ToanDN... just for the fun of it.... try this file.

Yes, Exactly This is my problem, i tried again and i found that the lines which i can not use are in block references in autocad

None of the blocks in my test file work either. That doesn't entirely surprise me :-).  What does is that less than half of the actual lines in the DWG Link seem to work.

Get rid of those short lines so that the string of lines does not loop and you can extend to them in revit.

I would not  because blocks are not the issue, closed loop lines are.  If you can't use Extend then jus use grip stretch and snap to the DWG.

Personally I try never to explode a CAD Link. it brings in too much garbage into my model that I then have to clean out. but you gotta do what you gotta do sometimes.
