HSS Clip angle

Hi all,

I'm an architect so a newbie. I want to know how can i make my bolts appear on the other side of the HSS column. You can see it attached on the post. As you can See they attach on the other side of the wall of the HSS and I want them to be attached to my clip angle side.

Hi @drenahmeti93

Select the bolts then in the properties untick the "Finish calculation at gap" option, this should extend them through the HSS

Thanks a lot.

One more question. Please see attached another snip. As you can see they do protrude through the entire HSS which is what I asked but now I want them to be only on the part of the clip. Not the whole HSS profile. Is there a way?

Also any suggestions where I can find more info regarding the steel connections, I'd really appreciate it!

Hi @drenahmeti93

So to do that i would advise the following

1. Delete the bolts you have currently

2. Add new bolts but choose the angle first then the HSS

3. When it asks you for a face choose the face of the angle

4. This will put the head of the bolt on the angle side

5. You can then leave the "Finish calculation at gap" ticked and they will only go through 1 face of the HSS

As for more information on the steel connections I have done a few webinars on the subject, see links below

I can't seem to delete the bolts only it deletes the entire connection. I tried with custom connection but couldn't delete anything. Any suggestion?

p.s. thank you for the links.

Yes of course I just had to trim it down. It's 2022 version.
