How to import to ETABS

Hi, I have a model which I would like to import to ETABS for structural analysis and design. I have tried using the ifc file, but I am hesitant to proceed in case there are limitations to using an ifc format when importing in ETABS. Are we required to use a specific plugin when importing, or will ifc do just fine?
