How I can import a 3D Structural model Autocad to Revit for do connections, I am exporting as DWG and Family, but anyway can't doing connections. The files exporting are as Blocks
Thanks.
You would need to link your DWG into the RVT.
Insert>>Link CAD
On another note - a structural model from AutoCAD, Microstation, other non-Revit programs, would not give the structural members the intelligence of Revit objects. Is this a model from a consultant, and you cannot change or edit it?
My project is ASD but I want to know the compatibility between both software, I know that ASD is discontinue, so I am testing if really is good keep using ASD or work all the project on Revit. My project ASD have not connections, this is the reason why I want o know how make connections on Revit since a 3D ASD model
Work entirely in Revit. You will be able to create structural components with intelligence and identity information. It will make things much easier for yourself.
More information. Look at the section for Structural Engineers.

Isn't Advance Steel meant to deal with connections and other things like that ? It has a bidirectional link with Revit.
you can use the cad as reference to model your elements in revit. but cad can't be used as a revit element.
