Hiding an attachment in a linked model

I'm working on a structural model that has an architectural model linked as a background. The architectural model itself has several linked models, one of which is from an equipment supplier and the link is set to "attachment". Due to this, I cannot hide it within my own model. Both my structural model and the arch model are in BIM360. My work around has been to save a local copy of the arch model, changing the problem link from "attachment" to "overlay", then linking that local arch model into my model. This means I have to repeat this process with every arch update rather than automatically getting updates from the BIM360 model. I've sent an email to the architect asking if that linked model can be changed from attachment to overlay, but I'm wondering if there is a better solution than this.

The Equipment supplier file is considered a Nested link, here's a link to the knowledge network "About Nesting Linked Models" https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/revit/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2021/ENU/Revit-C...
It covers the following:
When a nested model can display in the host model, you can indicate whether the nested model displays in a view using a filter from the host model, the filter applied to a view in the linked model or the nested model, or no filters.
Which is what I've used in the past, a Filter. If they placed the link in it's own workset, you can 'manage worksets' in 'Manage links'

Why don't you ask the architect to change the link to overlay?  If they can't, then ask them to keep it in a separate workset so that you can close it via Manage Links > Worksets.
