Grouping Multi Rebar Tags

Hello All,

Is it possible to create a Multi Rebar tag which gives the total number of bars tagged where they have the same Bar Mark (Rebar number). The image below shows 3 sets of Ubars 28 no in 2 sets and 10 in the third. I am hoping to be able to tag this as 66-N16-03-200-Ubars. Or at worst 3 individual descriptions all linked to the same tag rather than individually tagging them. Un-grouping the tags gives 1 tag per bar rather than per set. I am sure I am missing something somewhere.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Tom

Hi @Thomas.leeHG24M,

Did you check the "group matching tag head" option in type property of multi rebar annotation family?

 Please check the attached picture.

Hi Shefypattambi

Yes I have tried the group matching. If I untick it I get a tag for every bar in the set so I end up with 60 tags. Please see below image

Image.PNGI IItag parameters.PNGI have also included an image of the parameters I am using in the tag family, but I don't think there is anything wrong in there.

Thank you for your help

Kind regards

Tom

Hi @Thomas.leeHG24M

If you want to show the total quantity of bars, you should use Dimensions: Count in the MRA tag family label.

This counts and adds together all the rebar dimension references.

See the default rebar tag in the structural template.

If you use Quantity or Quantity by Rebar Set, this results in a value for each rebar set. If two sets have the same value, the tag will be grouped as that quantity (not double that).

Hi,

very odd, when trying to add the label Dimensions: count, it won't show up in the parameter list.

Where did you get this parameter? Is it a Shared Parameter you made by yourself?

I don't have it also.

EDIT: I've found it, see attachement.

That is a parameter of the tag used in Multi-Rebar Annotations. It extracts the number of references tagged by the dimension of the MRA.

You can select the mra and click the select tag button. Then edit the tag family. That should be available when you click the dropdown on the left and select Dimensions instead of Rebar.

Let me know if it works for you
