free form rebar error when editing opening

Hi every, I have a question about free form rebar.

Previously, we had one opening in the host, now we need one more and the location of the original one need to be changed as well.

However, when I edited the host and click finish model, the error window came out, I only can click the delete rebar button to exit the editing mode, which will lead to all bars deleted.

I wonder, what's the problem and how can I update the host without recreating all the rebars?

Thanks a lot.

I would suggest that when the Free-form Rebar was created is was linked somehow to the opening that is being editing and upon editing can no longer satisfy the original constraints and falls down.

I would review the constraints and see if you can resolve it by ensuring they are not being influenced by the changes in the surface shape.

Out of Interest how did you place the Free-form Surface Rebar given the Shape?

I would have used a Floor/Slab and created the opening in the sketch directly and then used Area Reinforcement

Create Area Reinforcement and Lock it outer shape to the Openings

Hi Jay, thank you for your reply.

I have reviewed the rebars, and found that the path and the start of bar were linked to the opening, I think that's why when I edited the opening, it failed.

I tried to remove the constraint of the start of bar, but the path constraint can not be removed, so I guess I will have to recreate the bars after I edited the openings.

And I think that also answers your question, I created the bars using free form path distribution, but maybe I should try Area reinforcement. Thank you.
