Floor Layers Appearance in 3D Views

Hi there, I'm looking for a work around to an issue I'm having getting floors / foundation slabs to display correctly in 3D Views.

I've created simple RC ground bearing slab with a 50mm blinding layer below. Which appears fine in section. When viewing in 3D the sides of the slab take on the appearance of the blinding layer below by default. The properties of the blinding as shown in the attached image. Is there a way to show these layers separately in 3D.

I could of-course model them as separate elements but it just makes twice the work when amending the outline. I also understand I can apply paint properties to the element but it would be great set it up such that it shows as intended.

Thanks, Lewis

What happens when you create a part of the floor?

As if by magic! It seems this is exactly what I'm after. As you may have noticed I've never ventured near the parts or assemblies button but I'll have to investigate its use...

Hello! Did you find any other way to do this? I wouldn't want to divide my floor into parts.

First of all... I couldn't 😅 I had my floor inside a group, maybe that was why? No idea, but I tried one outside the group and it stops being a floor, I can't select all the elements together anymore.

Because when you created parts, the view is set to Show Parts.  Change the view to Show Originals and you will see the original floor again.
