First steps into a Structural Framing Family Template

Hello Community!
I am pretty desperate because I have to create a catalog with custom profiles for steel framing Solutions but I can't find any useful resource to start modelling custom shapes based on the "structural framing" Family template. I'm quite an expert Revit user but I am new to the world of structure modelling and I've found the resources of Autodesk University and Knowledge too generic. I woul like to understand how to start  a Project in that specific template. Any Information would help.
Thank you very much!

Yes. I have to create custom face based families for my company because we are starting to use a plug-in that requires this kind of families to be loaded. I'm looking for a workflow or at least more information about the structural framing parameters because I am a bit confused at the moment. The families already loaded in the plug-in are very complex and I can't manage all the parameters because I don't know how they where created.

I attach one to let you understand.

i suggest to start from autodesk families library , there you can check what parameter you want to use ,

and i believe it's all about geometry , what you geometry do you want to create is the most important thing

you may need to add structural parameter for your families but in my point view the geometry is more important , how to make it parametric

Autodesk used to add nearly all the standard framing families to the content generator which is found at Revit Extensions.

Unfortunately they don't do this any more.

The latest version with that feature was Revit 2016.

So I do recommend to generate all these families in Revit 2016 then upgrade them in 2018.

Attached some examples

If you want a specific type , let me know and I'll upload it here.
