Extension Line Disappearing

Good day to all.

There's an issue I'm getting with the Multi-rebar tag family. As you can see in the first image below, the tag does not show the extended line below the text. However, when the tag is selected, as in the second image, the line appears. I'd like for the line to stay visible in either cases. Is there a way to do so?

Thank you.

Most Often the Leader has a Shoulder Line so needs 2 Clicks but if you drag back over the Shoulder Point it disappears especially for Straight Leaders Lines as yours

You could have to review the elements that make up the annotation.  Within the MRA Family there is a Tag and Dimensions Style

If you select the MRA Family in the Contextual Tab you have the Option to Select either the Tag or Dimension

Check within the properties of each what could be driving this

Ultimately you may need to edit the Tag Family Text Alignment

Good day @jay_colcombe ,

Thank you for the reply. I have fiddled with both the dimension and tag annotation settings but to no avail. I'm thinking that something is hiding the extension line since I can clearly see its there when I hover the cursor over or select the dimension. Could there be some setting causing this?

Thank you,

Open the file M_Structural MRA Rebar Section.rfa.
Try changing the family background from opaque to transparent.
The background will become transparent and the lines will be visible.スクリーンショット 2024-05-14 112658.png

As previously mentioned this happens when the Leader Line cannot be created in the Example below this is when the Leader Line is not added in the Tag and replicates your Example

Selecting the MRA shows the Leader Line Position in relation to its host

Uncheck Leader Line in Properties Palette

jay_colcombe_0-1715673483893.png

You now see something similar to your either there is not leader line as it is turned off OR it cannot be created as there is not enough space to fit it in

Most of the MRA Tags are Center Aligned so if you make sure you lick Far enough away you should be okay when using Leaders with Tags.

To ensure a Leader Line always is placed you really need additional MRA Tags where the Text is Left Aligned or Right Aligned so you can pick the exact start of text placement point

However in Revit 2025 you now have an Alignment Tool which solves Much of this for you

Good day,

Thank you both for your assistance. it turns out that I needed to change the tag family in the properties as well as apply what @jay_colcombe suggested. I somehow thought that the family tag would not matter in this case, but it did.

Thanks again.
