Elevation View Cuts Through End of Beam But It Doesn't Show as "Cut"

I'm currently working on a project in which a concrete structural framing member extends through a wall. The concrete beam extends past the face of the wall by 1'-0". However, when I add an Elevation View to the side of the wall that the beam cuts through, it shows the beam in the Projection Style (it doesn't actually show the beam as cut). The Elevation View is aligned 1/128" from the face of the wall, meaning that just under 1'-0" of beam end is extending past the cut plane of the elevation view. If I move then end of the beam 1" further past then face of the wall (end of beam is ~1'-1" past the face of the wall shown in the elevation view), the beam then shows as cut. I have a similar condition in which the reverse is true; i.e. the majority of the beam is "behind" the elevation view but less than 1'-0" extends through the cut plane of the view. (I'm hoping this makes sense).
I can cut in the same location with a section and the beam shows correctly as a Cut Pattern and Lineweight.
This seems like a glitch of some sort. Does an Elevation View that cuts through the final 1'-0" of a beam show the beam in the Projection Style instead of the Cut Style? Is there a reason for this? Is there a way to change this? Is this dictated by the Structural Framing Member or the Elevation View Properties?
Any help or insight is appreciated.
