I want my columns and isolated footings to automatically attach so when I move the column, the footing moves with it. How do I do set this up?
Thanks!
Lock center of column to center of foundation in both directions;
Start with align (AL), select center line of column , select center line of foundation, lock them.

Using "At Columns" still doesn't attach them so they move with each other.
Strange. See screencast for a demonstration.
Of course, you can always lock them together MANUALLY using Align and Padlock.

Tinkering around with this a little more, I found the footing will move with the column if I move the column at least the width of the footing... Meaning the column and footing are not connected in the center of the footing.
Is there a way that I can set up the automatic attachment so that the column is connected to the center of the footing at all times?
is this functionality only on 2020 onwards? I don't have "At Columns" when I insert isolated foundations.
Thanks
Hi,
Which version of Revit are you using?

hey
what if i want to do the opposite? attach columns to the foundation?
i have foundations of different thicknesses and i want them all to have the same base.
so attaching the top of the foundation to the bas of the columns results in different foundation bases.
i hope that wasn't confusing
This is because you need to move the column past the bounding box of the footing when using place at columns. this behavior is also present in beam to column connections
