Disappearing Holes/Void Form

I am having a strange occurrence having happen on some automated families. I have holes (voids) placed at 8" from a reference plane. Then when I insert the family into the project the holes disappear. To solve the issue I edit the family parameters from within the project (rather than the family) and move the 8" to 8 1/256" and the holes comeback. Any ideas on how to solve that issue so I don't have to make the small adjustment?

I think just about every family we have has fallen prey to this issue happening. On an off topic question. I also attempting to figure out how I can essentially take this family and alter into a radius. I know it will take different parameters to do it but I am sure it can be done! But again that's off topic so let's focus on this hole issue for now!

I am not entirely sure I followed what exactly you did there. But I did notice that once you reloaded the stiffback the holes came back but then disappeared on the other side.

I just ungroup the element that make the problem inside the family , and select it and change the type and reset the type to the correct type , just swap the types

Oh ok! Thank you. So there is no real way of preventing it from happening altogether? The fact that it happens is what drives my team crazy but I can't figure out a way to stop it.
