Dimension witness lines not snapping to correct point

Hi,

We currently have a problem when dimensioning a steel beam. When placing the dimension we are selecting 2 point however the witness line for the dimensions places itself some distance away from the point selected. The screenshot attached shows the bottom witness line some distance away from the point were it has been dimensioned (red point on screenshot).

Any ideas,

Thanks in advance,

Nathan

sorry, didn't see your video..... instead of select the Point, tab select and select the flat horizontal surface(s).

Hi @hmunsell ,

I have tried to tab through the options however the horizontal line never hightlights for selection. I think it might be to do with the fact the beam is curved (see attached)...

is that beam a custom family? you can place a reference plan in the family at that location, set the "Is Reference" setting of the plane to Bottom. then you should be ale to tab select to the plane to dimension.

in this example i used a window, but the same principle should apply...
