Good morning, I am wondering if it is possible to create a custom bend bar shape show as below. (see screenshot below) 

can any wise person shed some light......Stuck on this bar like forever........😅

Hi @Anonymous 

 

You can create that shape using rotated hooks

 

In this simple example, I sketched the V part, added 37 deg hooks, which i rotated 90 and 270 deg, respectively.

You can override the hook lengths and input the segment lengths directly, for the parameters which have the hook lengths assigned inside the family

The family definition looks like this

To get the other lengths shown in your images, you can write formulas based on the angle between the segments and lengths of the segments.

To get the overall length, projected to a plane (like in your picture), you can compute the projected length of the hooks, based on the hook length and bending angle (37 deg).

I've attached this sample example.

 

The ability to rotate hooks and override hook lengths is available starting with Revit 2021
