Creating parts from a design model

Hi All,

I've got a structural design model that I'm trying to use to create parts from. Whenever I click modify-->parts the whole model becomes grayed out. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm a bit of a Revit novice but I've done this several months ago and it worked fine with a similar model.

Thanks

JM

Hi,

Are you still in Modify|Division mode? Did you also use the Divide parts command?

Thank you,

Under the modify panel you can create parts based on existing elements.

I believe the discipline already set to coordination. I've attached the file, if you can help I'd be very grateful.

Cheers

Hi,

What your are having in the model are generic object floor type. The create part command does not work on these. Here is a list for the elements you can create parts:

http://help.autodesk.com/view/RVT/2018/ENU/?guid=GUID-DA150C6B-996C-4C70-9E8C-3C536C232851.

You should recreate the floor with revit command to match your geometry from IFC.

Let me know if that helps.

Kind regards,

Thank you, I got my hands on the native revit file and that fixed the problem.
