I have a grated floor in a rvt model that I would like to use in another model. Is there a way to export from 1 of the models to the other one? Thanks for any help you can give.

If you want to copy a floor type, you could simply use the clipboard. Open one model, in the Project Browser under Families find your floor type, then right click - copy to clipboard. Then open the new proyect, click Modify - Clipboard - Paste.

You could also make a copy of your model, delete everything in it, and you'll have a blank project which contains all your floor definitions.

Or you could copy Project Standards from your original project. This last one will work since a floor is a system family. But, Revit will omit all component families from the copy, so you'll have to load those separately.

Basically you have a special command to copy settings between projects, including family types, object styles, view templates and many others.

This is Transfer Project Standards from Manage tab.  Open dialog, choose source project and select Floor Types to be copied.
