what is the difference between architectural and structural walls?
Specifically, I have recently noticed that structural walls copy/paste to levels with the top constraint of the wall as the reference point (so copying walls from level 0 to level 1 will be pasted to the same level). Where as architectural walls copy/paste with the base constraint as the reference point (so walls paste as expected to the level above).
Also I note if i copy paste a combination of arch and structural walls, the base constraint is used for all walls.
I can confirm that walls were drawn with height setting with base and top constraints as L0 to L1 respectfully.
I have checked another file of mine and the behavior with the structural walls is as the architectural, as in they copy using the base constraint as the reference point, adding more confusion.
Since I have already modelled a number of walls I'd like to correct the behavior rather that apply a work around.
I ran a test using both and copy pasting, both worked fine.
Both types is important before the initial placement that the correct Base Constraints and Top Constraint is where you want it to be, that way the copy pasting works. If you group certain elements , specially horizontal ones , if you take such group and copy paste at different levels you will run into certain placement discrepancies.
Your post reads that you have zero issues with an existing file. You probably already done this but I would compare all settings between files. Base Constraints, Offsets, so on.
If you can share such file you having issues with. I suggest remove all other elements or items you do not want to share in the file, and keep all the levels, few walls, that way I can do the copy pasting and see what's up.
