Concrete column and concrete wall will not join in Revit 2024

Hello Folks,

  I have started a new project in Revit 2024 recently. When i place a concrete column next to a concrete wall they will not join. They are the same material. Does anyone else have this issue in 2024?

edit your column family, untick automatically joins geometry to walls, change your current column with the new one?

So straight OOTB using a Revit Structural Template

Structure Tab > Wall > I placed a Basic Wall Generic - 300mm

Structure Tab > Column > I placed a Concrete-Rectangular-Column 300 x 450mm

As you can see they are automatically joined

you can use - Modify Tab > Geometry Panel> Join > Switch Join Order to determine the connection between the objects

Making them the Same Material then cleans up common edges/lines  no matter what Join Order chosen

Thanks everyone!! What i found out was it does not show in detail level course view, but when i changed the detail level to medium the wall and column showed as joined!! Revit 2022 you could have it in course level and it would show joined.

If you look at the images above they are all in Coarse Detail Level so it still works in this Detail View as expected but glad you have a solution!

That is interesting. I wonder if it's because we just loaded our families from Revit 2022? What do you think?

I believe the fix is to review your Detail View options. Instead of coarse use medium or fine instead.

Possibly, it could be some under the hood settings forcing the differences?

Usually Autodesk probably do a Dynamo script to upgrade their families unless reported broke 😉

If you review at the images above they are in Course Level of Detail so for clarity their is some View Override (Vv/VG) level of detail setting of Filter (doubt that)
