Hello everyone,

I want to draw hoops for column in plan view.

When I click on column, Revit says Rebars are not visible in this view. how can I solve that ?

My setting :

Expand to Host

Placement Plane: tried all options

Placement orientation : Parallel to work plane

Is this placement correct as the values in the Properties Palette look as bit too large.

Also at times where you have placed items cannot see them try opening a 3D view to get a grasp of the satiation.

Also check;

Hi Jay, Thanks for your help.

I opened a new file which has no work sets.

When I choose "expand to host", nothing is drawn, but when I select "by two points", rebar is drawn.

It is in Plan View.

This is because in Expand to Host need to be within the elements to find the edges so you need to "New or Far Cover Face" in the Placement Plane and it then works as expected.

Sometimes when you don't need to quantify rebar tonnage or so, it's better to have a family with the 2D rebar included so it is way easier and don't worry for those kind of problems. I'll leave a video about this type of families.

Hi @rafaelPD66Z . Thanks for the video. But Unfortunately as it's mentioned in the video, it's a limited solution.

The following idea can solve so many problems. Please have a look at it and support it with a comment. Thank you.
