cannot solve bar shape

Sometimes when editing the dimension of a bar via properties palette, a ‘cannot solve bar shape’ dialogue pops up, but the bar can be edited the dimension by dragging the handles, and sometimes the bar moves or changes dimensions automatically even the bar is locked.

Why do these happen and how to solve these issues?

When you drag the handles you can only drag in a certain range. For example you can't drag one leg of a U-shaped bar over the other, as the middle segment would have a 0 or negative length.

In the properties, you can enter any value. For the same U shape, if you enter a value for the middle segment length that means the fillets at the ends of that segment don't fit, you will probably get that error.
