I've tried to keep the beam and the column separated. They intersect at a weird angle. Ii tried to use Cut Geometry, but it says "Can't cut joined elements". I don't know why this happens, as with some other beams it works just fine.
I'm trying to do this to prevent repetitive data, as when they colide, the volumes of the beam and column add up in the schedules.
Any idea on how to solve it? thanks.
Do the Join Tool or manually Disallow join have any influence?
Modify Tab > Geometry Panel > Join > Unjoin or Switch order
Select Beam > Right Click > Disallow Join
You could also use a Reference Plane to Cut the Beam
Thanks for the suggestion. It actually helped me with other instances, but I think there is a problem with the family instead.

With this configuration, it doesn't allow me to cut each other. But when I changed the family, it isn't a problem anymore.
Do you have any idea about why this happen? I want to make sure if something like this happens before. Thanks.

It is because there is a small anomaly in alignment between the Column and the Beam so it cannot cut properly as the boundary line is not defined exactly
I nudged this beam up using the Arrow Key > Joined them using the Join Tool > then Switched Join Order and it works as expected which would confirm the issue.
I t looks a complex scenario with so many things to unpack here it was difficult to know what was going on with Stubs on top of Columns and Grids not aligned correctly or horizontal maybe having a more defined grid structure may help in the future?
