Beam and Floor Connection

Deal all,

I am trying to connect floor and beams by Join tool. However, they are displayed differently (See the picture below). I am trying to accomplish the visual as the right beam (blank, without a line between beam and floor). Do you have any ideas how can i do that?

they should be the same structural material 

and on modify tab use join 

if you need to switch the join use switch join from modify tab

Both beam and floor are the same material. Just one beam is connected the other seems not to be. I used the join tool and end up with the results shown in the picture.

Go to Properties Palette -> Structural -> Structural Usage: Girder/Joist/Other/etc. Different Usage of the beams may result in different appearance (different hatching). Try to match the Usage for both beams.
