Base Plate suddenly disappear in section box

I'm using Revit 2017.1 to start. I'm having an issue with the base plate on structural connection. I try to isolate the column and the base plate using the section box. When I adjust the section box the base plate suddenly disappear. I check the V/G override and the hidden elements to make sure but its good as gone. When I turn off the section box the base plate will re-appear. Please help.

Hi @yurikim

Revit 2017 has some graphical issue ( depends the system config). Upgrade your software to 2017.2, it may help you.

Thank You! and please 'Accept As Solution' when you found a solution, to help others.

Update for Autodesk QA: This problem exists in Revit 2018.2.

When you have either a section box in 3D or a 2D crop region that cuts through the host structural column more than 3" from the top of the column, the baseplates disappear. When the section cut is less than 3" from the top, the baseplates display. What is even more odd is that a section box that cuts through the column member laterally (side to side) does not have this issue.

This is a critical flaw, as we often use section boxes to export 3D floor-to-floor views to Navisworks. When the bottom of the post is below the floor line (which happens often) we don't get the baseplate. Conversely, when we export the floor below, we still don't get the baseplate.

Can confirm section box in Revit 2018.2 still has that issue:

Are you using the Steel Connections for Revit addin? Your Base plate is a structural connection?

Did this ever get figured out?

Did you try going to your VV/VG settings under structural connections/ drop down list and see if all of the items are checked or unchecked?

That is what was happening to me anyway.

This is still an issue - I am using Revit 2020 and just experienced the same graphic challenges. Using a section box, I was attempting to section off the top half of a facade with columns. As soon as I dragged the section box past a certain point, entire columns disappeared vs. the sectioned-off portion of the column.
