I would say so and worked with many companies who rely on Revit and Rebar Schedules for construction purposes on a daily basis.
I still see Rebar Schedules created manually in Excel and included in a drawing pack alongside Revit drawings as well.
A good test would be to create a simple example in Revit of an existing project such as a Slab Base or Column where the quantity take-off was created using an alternative method you have used and compare the results.
