Align analytical slab to modified sub-element slab

Anonymous

Hi,

I have a slab drawn in at a specific level then used modify sub elements to adjust each corner to take the shape of my model.

My analytical model does not take the same shape. How do I adjust my analytical slab to the shape of my sloped slab?

I have attached the sloped slab and the analytical slab.

Thank you in advance.

Hi,

I have attached a portion of the model. I hope this helps explain things better.

Hi @Anonymous,

Firstly you need to define a reference plane parallel to you modified slab and name it.

The steps to perform to obtain the section where to draw the reference plane is described in this video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ogcTOsnypY

After that you can select the analytical mode, and in the properties under the 'Analytical Alignment' you should select the Projection as Alignment Method, and for Z Projection you should use the reference plane previously defined.

Let me know if you need additional information. i have attached a R2019 model

Hi @Anonymous,

The engineers needed flexibility to have variable loading with the analytical model, also to bring into Autodesk Robot.
