Working on Central file at different location

I received a revit file from the client and I am supposed to do the required work and just save the file (Not synchronise) and return the file to client, Now client will synchronise the file and get my work in the central file.

But prior to this, I am not able to edit any element in the file, Thanks.

Please note that,

Client is giving sync and relinquish before they sent a file to me,

Please refer below snaps

I cannot look into the worksets and none of the elements are editable.

Hi,

Please first open Detach from Central then do what you want and save.

that's not going to work..... once the file has been copied it becomes a Local of that Central. then you copying it back will make the copy you send a local of YOUR file, not the original central.  they will be able top maybe Copy/Paste, but not reSynchronize it.

like @lsharma4L983 suggested, for you to work on it you will need to open he file Detached. while your at it, i would do an audit as well.... once it is open, you will be able to save it on your PC. doing this will completely break the Central/Local link though.

Central file you can make only one of two rvt files.

You cannot synchronize the work with the main file of your client

Alternative : Your client can copy what you do into your own rvt file.
