So I am getting close to the right HVAC calculations for a project I am doing but still have a few questions.

1) Why does on the first floor of a 2 story building does it still calculate a roof load and usually this value is higher than the actual roof level?

 

2) Has anyone got any closer on getting this system to work, is the only reason it doesn't work because of the R-values not calculating in like I have read in other posts?

 

3) Why does the whole building peak load not match the top level and bottom level added together?

 

4) What is different from the space load to the zone load? Even if there is only one space in the zone?

I was able to touch base with the development team and do have a response for you. 

The built in load calculation programming is actually a bit of an old feature that has not had a lot of manpower behind it. The team is currently working within the Insight program, and going forward that will be the staple for the load analysis within the Revit workspace as it handles imperfect modelling a lot better.

 

I do have a couple of links for you with webinars for Insight as well as a How-To video. While Insight's primary focus is energy analysis there is a packaged Load Calc portion that the How-To goes over.
