Hi everyone, I am tearing my hair out on this issue and hoping someone can put me on the right track.
I am wanting to circuit different IT devices together - BUT the methods vary.
Some are Fiber (SingleMode, MultiMode), Cat6, Cat7 etc.
To do this, i have modelled the POWER Connector in each model to have a specific "voltage" and then set the Distribution System accordingly. Works well !!
BUT here's the issue - I am trying to assign the Newly created "wire Size" and Wiring Type based on the pre-defined voltage from within the models - and regardless of how i set it up, the first "Wire Type" is ALWAYS used.
If for eg the voltage of the connector on the device is set to "5v" it means that it shuold be a Cat6 Wire used. etc. ...... well thats the theory :). Yes i can manually select each wire Type, BUT when i have to do a couple of hundred of connections, its not really the right way 🙂
The screenshots are below.
I know this is REALLY butchering Revit to do something, but i am so close, I dont want to give up now. Everything is working brilliantly.
Thanks to everyone for any feedback.
dear @nigel.robertson
you can make a schedule for circuits and then sort by your specific criteria and change the used wire for bulk selection I believe this workaround will solve your issue.
Please, if this solved your issue, marked as an answer to help others.:)
