Why can't i create a new View reference category parameter?

When editing a View reference identifier family, i've tried to create a new View reference category parameter but the "Add Parameter" button is off. What should i do to create a parameter that's not "Sheet number" or "Detail number"?

Besides that, i've tried to create a new View reference category parameter in the Project parameters tab too, but i didn't find the "View reference" option.

Note: "Referência da vista" stands for "View reference".

"Número da folha" stands for "Sheet number".

"Número de detalhe" stands for "Detail number".

"Categorias" stands for "Categories" and "Parâmetros" stands for "Parameters".Duvida 1.JPGDuvida 2.JPG

Some families are hardcoded and can not be extended.

What are you trying to accomplish? Maybe there is a different route to solve your problem.

Please mention Revit version, especially when uploading Revit files.

I'm trying to add a new instance parameter in the View reference family's properties tab to change the orientation of the view reference icon. Instead of that, i had to create another view reference family type.

In spite of that, the issue was solved anyway.

View Reference is Type Base, you cannot use a instance parameter to control its visibility without Edit type.  The same applies to any Tags, Section / Elevation / Call-out marks.

Yungrr, could you please advise how did you solve your issue? I have been also trying to add a visibility parameter to the View Reference family for the same purpose as yours. I have successfully added it but it is not shown in the family properties after loading to the project. Please advise.

The parameter needs to be setup as a Instance.

mega old thread but finding this restriction pretty annoying - still no way to access any of the other view parameters besides sheet number and detail number?

i want to have view references (or sections/callouts that reference another view) and show the 'Title on Sheet' parameter
