Where does the leader connect to a tag family?

I'm working on duct tags and I want underscores for the text.

Aesthetically, I'd like the leader to connect to the end of the underscore of the text.

Image Left - When I edit the tag, it looks fine (assuming that the center of the cross in the editor should be where the leader attaches to the text tag). 

Image Right - When I tag a duct, it looks quite bad.

Is there a way to force the leader to attach to a certain point in the text?

Tag leaders come from the 'center' of the tag on all 4 sides.

The attachment point is the center of the the extents of all of the objects in the family. You can finesse the centroid to a desired location by using some invisible geometry.

To anybody else reading this in the future:

To make invisible lines: draw regular lines (from the "create" tab while in the tag editor). When you're done, mark the lines and uncheck "visible" in the properties. The leader will take these lines into account, even if they are not visible in the drawing.
